Abbott A. Brayton PhD, ChFC, CLU Abbott is another Vermont
success story. He worked his way through the University of Vermont, served three
plus years in Germany as an Army officer, and then earned his PhD from the University
of Arizona. Abbott's doctoral studies were concentrated in International Politics
and, later, finance. He held post-doctoral fellowships with the American Council
in Washington D.C. and Harvard University.
During his early career Abbott
was a professor and administrator of higher education, including four Universities,
while also fulfilling an active position with the government. He has authored
numerous research studies and in 1981 published his book "The Politics of War
& Peace".
In 1994 Abbott returned to his native state and became a partner
in Bell Financial Services, now Bell Wealth Management. He is a Chartered Financial
Consultant and an Accredited Estate Planner, as well as a national speaker who
has been called as an Expert Witness in financial matters for legal cases.
Abbott is a Registered Representative with Cambridge Investment Research, Inc.
a Registered Broker/Dealer, member FINRA/SIPC. He holds the Series 7 license (National
Association of Securities Dealers) registration, and is an Investment Advisory
Representative (IAR) with a Federally Registered Investment Advisor (RIA).
Family and community are central to Abbott's life. He has served on the Board's
of Directors for two Vermont Hospitals, held elective office in two towns, is
active in his church and is a long-time Rotarian. He has been a volunteer with
Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, the March of Dimes and numerous other organizations.
Abbott's free time is often spent with his family at their cottage on Lake Eden.
